These exercises are designed to work the rectus abdominus (the area responsible for the six pack look), the external oblique’s (near your side) and the transverse abdominus (located on your side). By working out these three muscle groups we can be sure that we are tightening every area of our stomachs.</p>

Now using your stomach muscles, pull your upper body upwards so that you are in a half-sitting up position.  Pause for a second, and then lower and repeat.</p>

<p>Lie flat on your back and place the ball between your feet.  Grip the ball with the insides of your feet and lift your legs and the ball up and over your chest.  Pause, and then lower and repeat.  Make sure that you do this smoothly and don’t bounce at the bottom of each repetition.</p>
<p><strong>Abs Work Out 3</strong></p>
<p>Position the ball next to a wall, and lie on the ball on your side, so that your feet are against the wall and pointing in the same direction, and your hip is resting against the ball.  Lean over to one side so that your body is lying on the ball, and then pull yourself upwards so that just your hip is in contact with the ball.  Positioning is key for this one, you need to make sure your hip is in the right place for maximum effect.</p>

You then keep your legs straight as you lift them vertically, making sure you&#8217;re using your stomach muscles to pull them up. What a vertical, holds the position for a few seconds before lowering them back down. Make sure you don&#8217;t let your legs touch the ground between reps, and if you have a bench you can go slightly over horizontal in order to work more of your muscle group.</p>
<p><strong>Hanging Leg Raises</strong></p>
<p>One of the great toning exercises to lose belly fat, hanging leg raises are similar to let less though because of the starting position they are more intensive. To want this exercise you&#8217;ll need a bar or a beam that you can hang on to. Start by grabbing a bar with an underhand grip and hanging from it. Then whilst keeping your back straight slowly raise your knees towards your chest. The trick here is to keep your body still whilst you perform these exercises, and you&#8217;ll have to go slowly in order to stop your body swinging like a pendulum. Hold at the top of the raise for a couple of seconds and then return to your starting position.</p>
